At Maine Stream Therapy, we offer individualized support for adults, teens, and young adults seeking relief, insight, and growth. Our approach combines talk therapy, art therapy, and evidence-based interventions to address the following areas:
Feelings of hopelessness, lack of motivation, and emotional fatigue can take a heavy toll. We help clients understand the roots of their depression, develop emotional insight, and reconnect with meaning and joy. Whether you’re navigating a life transition or long-term sadness, our sessions are a safe place to build momentum toward healing.
When worry, overthinking, or physical tension becomes overwhelming, therapy can offer tools to bring calm and clarity. Using mindfulness-based techniques, DBT skills, and creative expression, we’ll work together to help you better manage anxiety, feel more grounded, and reclaim your day-to-day functioning.
We specialize in working with neurodiverse clients seeking support for emotional regulation, social stress, or identity exploration. Sessions may include art therapy to support communication, DBT to build coping skills, and affirming conversation around life on the spectrum. Our practice is neurodiversity-informed and strengths-based.
Unresolved trauma can live in the body and mind long after the event has passed. We offer trauma-informed care using art therapy and Instinctual Trauma Response (ITR) to help safely process distressing memories, reduce reactivity, and build resilience. Sessions are paced for your comfort and growth.
Does your 2023 New Year's Resolution include self-care? Maine Stream Therapy has options for you. The creative exercises used in Art & Mindfulness in-person, small group workshops are meant to promote self-awareness and personal development.
The process combines art therapy, coaching, neurobiology, and self-compassion. Discover how to connect with your emotions through art and creative techniques for greater self-awareness.
Each session starts with setting the objective, moves through a therapeutic art directive, and finishes with a brief discussion that helps us understand our process better.
With this workshop, we will transform our ideas and behaviors positively by using our creativity and the neuroplasticity of our brains. Every one of us needs to practice self care. We will re-connect with our strengths and cultivate our best selves. We will make the time and space to ground ourselves.
